About

We're a student-run organization at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and are comprised of 45 students ranging from freshmen to graduate students. The team designs, constructs, and races an open wheel formula style race car in one of the world's largest design competitions, Formula SAE. Overall, approximately 500 teams from around the world participate in the program, with around 150 of those teams coming from North America.

Students participating in our program receive valuable insights into both the engineering and business aspects of design. Additionally, our program allows these students to communicate and network with companies and other individuals with whom we work. As a result, participating in Formula SAE gives students the experience and knowledge to help them prosper in their chosen career path.

Annual Build

HMS 25

HMS 25 is the 14th car produced by Husker Motorsports. The team worked to further improve our own custom decoupled heave/roll suspension that the previous years had started by moving to a front pullrod configuration to lower the center of gravity. The seventh year of the teams aerodynamics package major improvements in durability with inclusion of a new internal support structure. The downforce increased significantly due to changes of the floor and front wing.
